So it has been a while! Things have been crazy busy for me 🙂 Last weekend we moved into our new home and I finally have internet access agin. Which means it is time for me to stop procrastinating and get a move on with my LONG photography to-do list and that includes finally posting about this gorgeous family portrait session I had at the beginning of this year.
Many of you might not know that my hubby, Lilo, is a tennis pro at Hollow Rock Racquet & Swim Club. Last year they held a silent auction to raise money towards the Rob Schmidt Memorial Scholarship. Rob passed away in 2012 due to an acute intestinal infection. After Rob’s passing, his family had an overwhelming desire to do something to celebrate his life. That is when they established this scholarship to award to a University of Western Ontario (UWO) tennis student who shares Rob’s qualities, values and interests, allowing his memory to live on. Rob was a former UWO tennis star who earned team MVP honors three times along with various other prestigious awards. When my husband told me about the silent auction I really wanted to be apart of it and help Rob’s family carry on his memory.
That is how I met the wonderful Sellers family 🙂 Laura wanted to wait until her sons were home for their Christmas break in order to take their pictures. This winter we have experienced some absolutely frigid temperatures and the day of our session was no exception. We debated whether or not to have the session indoors but I am so glad they opted to go outside. Huge THANK YOU Sellers family for braving the cold and allowing me the chance to spend an afternoon getting to know you all. Here are some of my favorites from the day:
I just LOVE everything about this picture! GROUP HUG!
This family 🙂 You all were so kind and positive despite the super cold temperatures! Thank you so much for allowing me to photograph your family!
